Carrie Andersen

My name is Carrie Andersen and I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Texas at Austin in American Studies. My dissertation explores the ways that military drone technology is domesticated or normalized in everyday life since 9/11, and how the process of normalization affects the lived experiences of security, agency, and democratic citizenship.

I also co-manage my department's online media presence (including our official webpage, blog, Twitter account, and Facebook page), and am an editorial board member of The End of Austin, an award-winning digital humanities project that explores change and endings in Austin, Texas.
